Absolutely. There is no resistance and the wheel with the hub motor will spin freely when not engaged by the throttle. The motor will also not prevent speeds above 20 MPH if you are pedaling faster or going downhill. The motor will in no way impede your ability to go faster than the motor even when fully engaged. At speeds above the motors top speed the motor will spin freely. It is important to note that although the motor will not give any resistance to your pedaling power that the increased weight of the bike with the system installed will change the way pedaling alone feels. Obviously with more weight your bike will not be as easy to pedal as it is without the weight. The difference is minimal but not negligible.
